TWICE's Chaeyoung Claps Back at Smoking Rumors: Bestie, It Was a DRINK

someone clipped her at an FKA twigs rave and decided a beverage was a cigarette — she is NOT having it.

no bc leave Chaeyoung ALONE challenge (apparently impossible). the TWICE member hopped on her fan platform on August 12 to shut down claims that she was smoking indoors, and the exhaustion in her tone was palpable.

here's the plot: a video from FKA twigs' rave party at Seoul's Dongdaemun Design Plaza started circulating, and because she raised Something to her mouth, parts of the internet decided it was a cigarette. Chaeyoung says it was literally a drink. "It's a drink, not a cigarette. Look closely," she wrote, adding that she's tired of it and was just having fun.

she also went full 'be so for real' mode, pointing out there were tons of people around and asking why she'd ever do that so openly — she's not that careless. and honestly? the logic is logic-ing.

meanwhile Chaeyoung is fresh off TWICE's THIS IS FOR world tour finale at KSPO DOME and has her solo era in motion after dropping LIL FANTASY vol.1 last year. the girl is booked, busy, and apparently just wanted a sip in peace. let her live. 🥤

The TWICE x JYP Contract Drama Just Escalated and the Rumor Mill Is in Shambles

after the Tzuyu reports, Jihyo, Chaeyoung, and Jeongyeon are now reportedly weighing their options at JYP too. nothing’s confirmed — but the speculation is spiraling.

okay everybody put the tribute montage down and read the ACTUAL reporting, because the vibes online have massively outrun the facts here. nothing below is confirmed. i'm going to keep saying that until it sinks in.

what korean outlets reported on july 14, specifically: JoyNews24 said jihyo may be looking at setting up a one-person agency for SOLO work — and that she'd stay with TWICE for group activities either way. Nate News said chaeyoung has taken meetings elsewhere, possibly to split a group contract from a solo one. Naver Entertainment said jeongyeon has been meeting agencies, and Varo Entertainment acknowledged a meeting while stating "nothing has been finalized regarding any contract."

none of that is a departure, bestie. a meeting is a meeting. a separate solo agency is a filing cabinet, not a breakup — plenty of idols run group promos under one roof and solo work under another and the sky stays firmly where it is.

the wave started with an unconfirmed july 13 report about tzuyu, and from there the timeline did what the timeline does: extrapolated an entire future from three reports and a feeling. some of the names getting pulled into this have no reporting behind them at all — only comment sections.

JYPE's line has not moved: renewal discussions are ongoing, company and members are talking it through, and they'll announce something when there's something to announce. that is genuinely the whole confirmed record.

so — ONCEs, breathe. rumors are not receipts, meetings are not resignations, and nobody has to feel anything specific until someone actually signs something. we wait.

THE BOYZ Face $6 Million Lawsuit From Former Agency ONE HUNDRED

The agency is seeking to reclaim signing bonuses and has secured provisional asset seizures against members, following the group's April contract injunction.

THE BOYZ are entangled in a new legal dispute with their former agency, ONE HUNDRED. According to reporting published on August 4, ONE HUNDRED has filed a lawsuit seeking roughly 6 million US dollars, arguing that the members' contract signing bonuses were advance payments tied to their activities with the label and should be returned.

As part of the action, the agency has obtained provisional asset seizures against the members. Property belonging to Younghoon and Q has been frozen, and ONE HUNDRED has indicated it intends to pursue similar measures against the group's seven other members.

The lawsuit follows a ruling earlier this year in the group's favor. In April 2026, THE BOYZ were granted a contract injunction against ONE HUNDRED, with the court citing breach of trust, managerial neglect and non-payment. At that time, the court rejected the agency's characterization of the signing bonuses as advance payments — the same argument now at the center of the new suit.
