BTS Draw 155,000 to Three Sold-Out Peru Concerts
three nights, 155,000 fans, one country absolutely losing it — the 'Arirang' tour hit Peru HARD.
not BTS turning Peru into one giant purple ocean. the welcome was EVERYTHING.
the group drew around 155,000 fans across three sold-out concerts in Peru on their 'Arirang' world tour — and the energy, by all accounts, was unhinged (affectionately). V even celebrated Hangul Day while out there, which is the kind of detail that makes Latin ARMY combust.
Peru has long been one of K-pop's most passionate strongholds, and BTS finally delivering shows there, post-military, at this scale, is a genuinely huge moment for a fanbase that has waited and waited.
155,000 people, three nights, one of the loudest welcomes on the tour. Peru ARMY, you absolutely ate. 💜

the halftime show went down july 19 at the new york new jersey stadium and the styling was doing quiet, devastating math. seven members, one number, zero survivors.
listen. BTS played the FIFA World Cup final halftime show on july 19 and the internet has not shut up since, correctly. but can we please discuss the STYLING for one second, because somebody in that glam room was operating at a genius level and deserves a raise.
the fits were black, red and white — the colors of south korea's national team and the flag. fine. expected. gorgeous. and then jimin and j-hope walked out wearing the number 7. seven. as in the number of members. a tiny tribute stitched onto a jersey and broadcast to the entire planet with no explanation offered whatsoever. not me finding out via a screenshot at 2am.
suga went his own direction with an emblem for the Red Devils, the official supporters' group for team korea, which is such a specific and unserious flex. then jin, v and suga all turned up in tiny silver whistle pendants, with j-hope wearing his clipped to a belt loop. referee-core. i cannot do this.
the performance itself was 'Dynamite,' which — hot take — was the correct call. culture journalist steffi cao told teen vogue, “I love that they chose to do ‘Dynamite.’” and she's right, it's the one that a stadium that size already knows by heart. jungkook came out first, the other six followed, spain beat argentina, and functionally none of that is what anyone is posting about.
they shared a bill with madonna, justin bieber, shakira, burna boy, gustavo dudamel, a children's chorus backed by coldplay and — for reasons known only to god — the muppets and ted lasso. and STILL the discourse is a number on a jersey. mother is mothering.
seven members. one number 7. we are unwell and we intend to stay that way.
