BTS Dropped a ‘NORMAL’ Teaser Set in a Bathroom and the Fandom Has Officially Lost It

the boys are back with a teaser for their ‘NORMAL’ MV and yes, the setting is a bathroom. no context, just chaos, exactly how we like it.

Photo: Soompi

the teaser landed at midnight KST on july 16 and the setting was — respectfully — a bathroom. seven grown men, backs to the camera, lined up in front of a row of toilets like it was the most obvious staging decision available to them. no context. no explanation. just vibes and plumbing.

the campaign around it was unhinged in the most expensive way possible: full-page teaser ads ran in the New York Post on july 13 and the San Francisco Chronicle on july 14, laid out like an actual tabloid scoop under the line "BTS Seen in Bathroom Amid Mysterious Late-Night Gathering." they bought newspaper space to gossip about themselves. that's the bit. that IS the entire bit.

'NORMAL' is a b-side off 'ARIRANG,' the fifth album, and the video premiered exclusively on Spotify on july 17 at 1 p.m. KST before arriving on the HYBE LABELS youtube channel on july 19. staggered rollout, maximum suffering, thank you for your service.

and the video itself? not the chaos the teaser advertised. it's the quiet after the party — the seven of them in the ordinary hours once the noise dies down and everybody goes home. naming it 'NORMAL' and then actually delivering normal is such a devastating little flex.

ARMY did not make it through july intact and we have the receipts. we're seated. we're unwell. we are so back. 💜

no bc nct 127 said 'august is ours' and dropped a BLINGY teaser to prove it

the neos just uncorked the first teaser for their SEVENTH studio album 'BLINGY,' out august 24. it's a five-member era this run — johnny, taeyong, yuta, jaehyun and haechan are about to bring neo city chaos and we are bracing.

ok i was minding my entire business when nct 127 decided to end my peace — the neos just uncorked the first teaser for their comeback and mother is officially mothering again.

here's the tea: it's a full-length album — their SEVENTH, the resilience — titled 'BLINGY,' and it's landing august 24 at 6pm kst. a whole LP. in this economy. iconic behavior honestly.

this run is a five-man situation, and yes we clocked it: doyoung and jungwoo are currently serving in the military, so johnny, taeyong, yuta, jaehyun and haechan are holding down neo city until the full squad reunites. we love a group that keeps feeding us mid-enlistment.

the teaser itself is giving exactly what it needs to give — cryptic, shiny, faintly unwell-inducing. no full concept reveal yet, just enough to send czennies into a groupchat spiral, which, mission accomplished.

august 24, bestie. mark it, guard it with your life, start clearing shelf space now. the neos are so back.
