"나는 나를 불태워" = "I burn myself" (불태우다 = to set ablaze/burn up), casting j-hope as both the arsonist and the fuel that's consumed. The fire is a metaphor for burning away his old self and ambition to be reborn. In a Rolling Stone interview, j-hope said he chose "Arson" as the closing title track of his 2022 album 'Jack in the Box' because "it has the fire, the passion that I wanted this album to possess," calling it a turning point and crossroads (Koreaboo, citing Rolling Stone).
