taemin announced a world tour called LiMiNaL and gave us zero dates bc he loves the drama
the man is dropping a new album AND circling the globe and told us the name means 'threshold' like we're not already on the edge. no cities yet — just vibes and a countdown to being unwell.
not taemin waking up on july 24 and announcing an entire 2026–27 world tour before some of us have announced we're getting out of bed. the tour is called [LiMiNaL] and yes i already know i'll be sobbing in a pit somewhere.
here's the lore: the name comes from the latin 'limen,' aka threshold or boundary — the announcement frames it as "the beginning of a new transformation," not an ending. so it's giving reinvention, rebirth, main-character-entering-his-next-era energy. iconic behavior from a man who's been serving since he was basically a toddler.
and he's not coming empty-handed — the tour rolls out alongside a new album, 'PHASE 1: Soft Violence,' landing august 31. a soft violence. against me, specifically. i'll allow it.
the one (1) thing he did NOT give us? actual dates or cities. just the concept, the countdown, and the psychic damage. the audacity. the restraint. we stan a man who understands suspense.
anyway clear your calendars for a tour with no calendar. taemin said trust the process and unfortunately i do.

the boys are back with a teaser for their ‘NORMAL’ MV and yes, the setting is a bathroom. no context, just chaos, exactly how we like it.
the teaser landed at midnight KST on july 16 and the setting was — respectfully — a bathroom. seven grown men, backs to the camera, lined up in front of a row of toilets like it was the most obvious staging decision available to them. no context. no explanation. just vibes and plumbing.
the campaign around it was unhinged in the most expensive way possible: full-page teaser ads ran in the New York Post on july 13 and the San Francisco Chronicle on july 14, laid out like an actual tabloid scoop under the line "BTS Seen in Bathroom Amid Mysterious Late-Night Gathering." they bought newspaper space to gossip about themselves. that's the bit. that IS the entire bit.
'NORMAL' is a b-side off 'ARIRANG,' the fifth album, and the video premiered exclusively on Spotify on july 17 at 1 p.m. KST before arriving on the HYBE LABELS youtube channel on july 19. staggered rollout, maximum suffering, thank you for your service.
and the video itself? not the chaos the teaser advertised. it's the quiet after the party — the seven of them in the ordinary hours once the noise dies down and everybody goes home. naming it 'NORMAL' and then actually delivering normal is such a devastating little flex.
ARMY did not make it through july intact and we have the receipts. we're seated. we're unwell. we are so back. 💜
