'Glow ME' is only their second full-length ever — the first one, 'Unlock My World,' arrived back in june 2023, which in k-pop years is roughly a geological era. ten tracks. a proper album, not a two-song seasonal drive-by.
the title track runs on latin-leaning grooves under a melody engineered to lodge itself in your skull by the second chorus. bright, refreshing, faintly unhinged in the best way. it is, structurally, a july song. they understood the assignment and then laminated it.

the receipts, bestie: august 31, 6 p.m. KST. a teaser video went up at midnight KST on july 23 and told us essentially nothing, which is obviously the point. mysterious king behavior. we got vibes and a font and we are expected to survive on that for over a month.
but the detail that has the timeline unwell is the phrase PHASE 1. phase. ONE. that is not the language of a man putting out one release and going home. that is the language of a multi-part rollout engineered to keep us financially and emotionally destabilized until further notice.
and honestly he's earned the right to be cryptic. taemin has been doing this since he was a literal child and still shows up with concepts nobody else would survive attempting. 'soft violence' as a phrase is already doing numbers in my head — it's giving contradiction, it's giving restraint, it's giving him.
